Replacement of old Passport/New Passport

This Mission has been processing Machine Readable Passports (MRP) from January 2013. Those who already have Bangladesh passport to be expired on its’ ten years term or already expired (10 years) can apply to the High Commission for a new MRP passport. Applicant has to submit the following to the Consular Section of the High Commission:

a)filled in Bangladesh MRP Application Form (DIP Form -1)

b)4 copies passport size photographs (40mm X 50mm) with the face clearly visible (no cap/covering etc.)

c)Old original passport

d)Turkish/Bulgarian/Azerbaijan residence card/work permit

e)Relevant fees (bank transfer/deposit slip)

g)National ID/Birth Certificate (must required)

h)Personal Presence is a must for due to bio-metric requirements

If the pages of a valid passport are exhausted, the holder can apply for a new passport following the same procedure as mentioned above.

If the passport is somehow considered damaged, the holder of the passport can have a new passport by surrendering damaged one and follow same procedure as mentioned above. In such cases, holder of the passport has to be personally present at the High Commission.

New Passport against lost one

If the passport is lost, holder can apply for a new passport. Applicant has to submit the following to the Consular section of the High Commission:

a)A police report for lost passport

b)Photocopy of the lost passport or document in support of Bangladesh nationality.

c)Duly filled in prescribed application form (MRP form)

d)4 copies passport size photographs (40mm X 50mm) with the face clearly visible (no cap/covering etc.)

e)Relevant fees (bank transfer/deposit slip)

g)National ID/Birth Certificate (must required)

h)Personal Presence is a must for due to bio-metric requirements

In the absence of the police report the High Commission may decline to issue new passport.

If the passport (lost) was issued by this High Commission, passport particulars will be verified with records and new passport will be issued. Under MRP system, for all Bangladeshi citizens separate passport will be required. No Children Endorsement will be permitted after June, 2013.
